You may have all seen the press about the fattest man in the world. I have tried to contact him with an invitation to FastMonday but have heard nothing so far.
A great news story and one sad end of an increasing problem in society so well documented in a recent Observer article:
Who’s to blame for Britain’s obesity epidemic?
http://www.guardian.co.uk/lifeandstyle/2009/oct/25/obesity-rights-discrimination-nhs-cost
The danger with these news stories is they take the focus away from the middle ground – the fact that so much of our population is overweight. We are naturally slim creatures but our bonkers lifestyles are making so many of us fat and bloated. For me half a stone is too much. So here’s a message from FastMonday. Don’t worry about the 70 stone guy – focus on your unwanted 7 pounds.
Happy Fasting. Happy Juicing.

Most people use the words hard and easy with out really thinking. They refer to their feelings – not the physical Universe.
Climbing Everest is hard. You have to fly to Nepal, Trek for a week to get to base camp. Hire Sherpas, be part of an expedition, pay fees to the government etc etc.
Setting up a restaurant is hard. You need premises, chefs, waiters, pots, pans, plates, food, tables, menus etc etc.
Stopping smoking is not hard. You don’t need anything.
Fasting is not hard. You don’t need anything.
Now – I am not saying it is easy – just don’t overcomplicate things. And watch what words come out of your mouth. You can literally language your life – and take a stand for own future at the same time!

If you do searches on fasting there are lots of great sites out there with rafts of information and stories of people fasting for 20, 30 or 50 days.
Which is brilliant and people report all kinds of miracles through fasting – cancer cures, stomach ulcers and depression.
If you’re new to fasting, which I was a year ago, it can all be a little daunting! So take it easy – take it a day at a time – lots of small changes make big ones. By getting to grips with the basics, you can build up over time and take on bigger challenges when the time is right.
